Randy Schneider is in his third season with the Lady Cardinals, and his second as associate head coach.
Schneider helped Lamar University clinch a share of the Southland Conference regular-season title in 2013-14, as the Lady Cardinals went 13-5. LU finished 18-13 overall and qualified for the WNIT, the program’s fourth appearance in a national postseason tournament in five seasons.
In 2014-15, he helped the Lady Cardinals post their eight consecutive winning record, as LU finished 17-13 while placing second in the Southland Conference with a 14-4 mark.
An indefatigable recruiter, Schneider was instrumental in landing a recruiting class that was ranked 84th in the nation and tops in the Southland Conference by Allstar Girls Report, one of the top sources of high school player rankings in the nation.
Schneider was an assistant coach at St. Thomas University in Florida for six seasons on the staff of current Lamar head coach Robin Harmony. During his time at St. Thomas, the Bobcats six consecutive seasons of at least 20 wins, advanced to the NAIA Tournament on three occasions and were ranked as high as 11th in the nation.
In his last season at St. Thomas, the Bobcats posted the best record in program history, going 27-4, including a perfect 14-0 mark in the Sun Conference.
Prior to his time at St. Thomas, Schneider coached girls high school basketball for eight seasons, posting a 131-57 record, reaching the state tournament seven times.
Schneider also served as a head coach of the Premier Jaguars AAU basketball team in Miami and the Miami Suns, one of the premier AAU clubs in the nation.
Schneider, a native of Miami, graduated cum laude from Florida International University in 1998, earning a bachelor’s degree in physical education.
Schneider resides in Beaumont with his wife Jennifer and daughter Taylor.
